The Engagement Session

The best part about being a Chicago Wedding Photographer is the amazing sunsets and clouds.  This engagement session was like no other.  One of the best parts of this year was all the amazing partly cloudy days.  As the sun set it cast this beautiful yellow and orange around each and everyone of the clouds.  What a beautiful day!!!

We started the session out near the couples first apartment near the Merchandise Mart in downtown Chicago.  The first part of the session was just sort of played by ear along with stopping at a few spots that were meaningful to Julia and Glen.  I love when the couple thinks of locations on their own that are meaningful to their relationship; it always makes ever session a little more authentic.

The Couple

Julia and Glen met randomly through mutual friends one New Years Eve and it was love at first site.  They soon moved into their first apartment together near the Merchandise Mart, then briefly to Los Angeles, and then back to the Windy City.  They are planning their Chicago wedding at at the Ivy Room in 2013.

The Photography

I love telling the story of how I met with this couple.  Earlier this Summer Julia called my cell phone to ask more questions about my wedding photography.  I quickly learned that she lived in Los Angeles and was planning a wedding from out of town.  Funny as it was, I had just landed in Los Angeles a few hours before her call and had plenty of time to meet with her the next day.

I have had so much fun working with Julia and Glen.  They are both such fun, down to earth people and I am very excited to work with them again next August!
